If you've been searching for replacement slings for your outdoor timber dining chairs, including S2dio chairs, you're not alone. We've had customers contact us from all over Australia after spending months trying to track down a supplier. The good news? We stock them, and we can post them direct to you anywhere in Australia.
What are chair slings?
Slings are the woven mesh fabric panels that sit within the frame of your outdoor dining chair, covering both the seat and the backrest. Over time, UV exposure, moisture, and general wear can cause them to sag, fade, or tear. Rather than replacing the whole chair, a new sling gives it a fresh lease on life at a fraction of the cost.
Teak and kwila outdoor timber chairs
If you've purchased outdoor furniture in Australia over the past 20 years, there's a good chance your chairs are kwila timber. Kwila has been a staple of Australian outdoor dining for decades, and the frames are incredibly durable. Teak is a newer addition to the market and equally long-lasting. Either way, if your frames are still solid but the slings are looking tired, we can help.
Our replacement slings are compatible with S2dio outdoor timber dining chairs in both teak and kwila, and are:
- Made from durable, UV-resistant mesh fabric
- $69 per chair
- Available to post anywhere in Australia (courier price on enquiry)
- Available in-store at our Brisbane showroom
Chair styles we stock slings for
We currently stock replacement slings for the following S2dio chair models. If you're not sure which model you have, get in touch and we'll help you identify it.
Brooklyn
A classic timber dining chair with a sling seat and back. The S2dio Brooklyn chair uses the same sling as the Roxbury - if your chair looks similar to the one pictured, this is probably the sling for you.
Roxbury
Very similar in design to the Brooklyn, the Roxbury shares the same sling. If your chair matches either the Brooklyn or Roxbury photo, the same replacement sling will fit both.
Havana
The Havana has its own distinct sling size and shape. Compare your chair to the photo above to confirm this is your model before ordering. The Havana, once manufactured in kwila (merbau) is now available in teak. The slings are the same for both timbers.
Sienna
The Sienna uses the same sling as the Layla. The key difference between the two chairs is that the Layla has a slightly wider arm. If your chair has a standard-width arm, you have the Sienna.
Layla
The Layla is very similar to the Sienna and uses the same sling - the easiest way to tell them apart is the Layla's slightly wider armrests. Either way, one sling fits both.
Bronx
The Bronx has its own distinct sling size and shape. Compare your chair to the photo above to confirm this is your model before ordering.
How do I know if my slings need replacing?
If your slings are sagging in the middle, have visible tears or fraying, or have faded significantly, it's time for a replacement. With a fresh set of slings, your chairs can look and feel like new again. If the timber itself is also looking tired, it may be worth doing a full refresh at the same time. Our guide to restoring and refurbishing kwila outdoor furniture walks you through the process step by step.
