The Golden Care Teak Protector is step two in the teak restoration process - applied after cleaning, it locks in the natural honey colour of your teak and keeps it looking its best for significantly longer than traditional teak oil.
It can also be used on new teak furniture straight away to maintain the colour from day one, before any weathering has a chance to set in. For new teak, clean first with Golden Care Teak Cleaner to remove some of the natural surface oils, or leave the furniture outside for two weeks before applying.
Unlike teak oil, which can darken timber to an unnatural brown and leave a greasy residue, teak protector is water-based, solvent-free, and non-greasy. It won't stain clothes, won't cause the black spots that teak oil is notorious for, and is classified as EcoSafe - no hazardous solvents or VOCs. It also lasts up to four times longer than teak oil and up to twice as long as teak sealers, making it the smarter long-term choice for maintaining your furniture.
Once applied, follow up with Golden Care Teak Shield to add a protective barrier against food and drink stains.
