Morning coffee in the fresh air, a long lunch with friends, or a quiet afternoon outdoors. A pergola helps give these everyday moments a place of their own, creating a defined space for gathering, dining and relaxing.
We have two Kayden pergola models on display in our showroom, so you can see the details up close and imagine how one could work in your own outdoor space.
At Lume Outdoor Living, our Shelta Kayden semi permanent aluminium pergola range comes in three finishes: White, Charcoal and Wood-Look. Each is available in two sizes, with an adjustable louvre roof and built-in drainage. The choice comes down to the look you love, the space you have and how you want to use it.
What do the Kayden pergolas have in common?
All three finishes share the same practical roof design. The adjustable louvres open up to 90 degrees using convenient handles, giving you control over how much sunshine you let into your outdoor area. Close the louvres for a waterproof roof when rain arrives.
A built-in gutter system channels water to internal drainage outlets in each column. This keeps drainage integrated into the structure rather than relying on separate external downpipes. An overhead roof does not fully enclose the space, so consider your furniture’s exposure to wind-driven rain when planning your layout.
The aluminium structure includes cross-beams and flip-side boards for increased load-carrying capacity. Each post can be bolted to a sturdy surface for permanent installation, and the louvre handles are removable so they do not swing in the wind.
White: a fresh, welcoming backdrop
The White Kayden pergola has a crisp white powder-coated aluminium frame, with a rust-resistant finish designed for outdoor use.
White is a lovely choice if you want a light, relaxed feel. Picture natural timber furniture, soft cushions and leafy pots beneath it. It can work beautifully with coastal-inspired spaces or a garden where you want the furniture and greenery to take centre stage.
Charcoal: a defined, contemporary look
The Charcoal Kayden pergola features a charcoal powder-coated aluminium frame, also rust-resistant and designed for outdoor use.
The darker finish gives an outdoor room a clear outline. It is worth considering if your home already features dark window frames, fencing or other charcoal details. Pair it with warm teak, textured rope furniture or lighter cushions for a comfortable balance.
Wood-Look: warmth with an aluminium frame
The Wood-Look Kayden pergola brings timber-inspired warmth to the range. Its frame is aluminium with a wood-look finish, not timber, with charcoal trim on the louvres and panels.
This finish is an inviting option for garden settings and outdoor areas with natural textures. Think woven seating, earthy cushions and pots filled with greenery. It also offers matching optional louvre wall panels if you would like to define selected sides of your space.
Choosing between the 3x3m and 4x3m pergolas
Both sizes are available in all three finishes. Start with the furniture you want to place underneath, then allow space for chairs to pull out and people to move comfortably around them.
The 3x3m option has a base footprint of 3.03 x 3.03m and a frame measurement of 2.94 x 2.94m. It is a useful starting point for a more compact dining or lounge area, depending on your furniture dimensions.
The 4x3m option has a base footprint of 3.03 x 4.02m and a frame measurement of 2.94 x 3.94m. Its rectangular shape gives you extra length to work with when planning a dining setting or lounge arrangement.
For both sizes, the height is 2.30m with the louvres closed and 2.38m with them open. Use the actual base measurements rather than the size name alone when checking your available space, and allow clearance for the roof to operate.
Optional extras to make the space your own
Fabric side blinds
Fabric blinds are available in Charcoal or White. You can choose which sides to screen and how many blinds you need. They can be ordered with your pergola or added later through our team, giving you flexibility as you get to know the space.

LED strip lighting
Optional LED strip lighting with RGB colour options lets you plan for evenings outdoors as well as daytime use. This is an important decision to make early: the lights must be fitted during initial assembly and cannot be added afterwards.

Matching Wood-Look louvre wall panels
For the Wood-Look pergola, optional matching wood-look aluminium louvre wall panels feature charcoal trim. Panels are sold individually. You need two panels to screen a 3m side or three panels to screen a 4m side, and you can choose which sides you would like to screen.

What to know before ordering
The Kayden pergola requires assembly. Before choosing your size, check the full base footprint, roof clearance and the suitability of the surface where it will be installed. Although the range is described as semi permanent, it can be bolted down for permanent installation, so plan its position and fixing requirements carefully.
Decide on lighting before assembly, and let us know if you would like fabric blinds or, for the Wood-Look option, matching wall panels. Side blinds, wall panels, lighting and other accessories are optional extras, and furniture shown in product photographs is not included in the pergola price.
Find the right pergola for your outdoor space
The best starting point is how you want to spend time outdoors. A table for family dinners, a comfortable corner for slow afternoons, or a place to gather with friends will each shape your layout a little differently.
