Base Options:
We provide two different base mounts for your umbrella: in-ground and bolt-down; we also offer a stainless steel bolt-down base. The in-ground base must be concreted into the ground, leaving the base mostly unseen. The bolt-down base is more visible as it is placed on top of an existing concrete or tile foundation. The stainless steel bolt-down base is recommended for mineral pools in particular. Both base options provide the same structural integrity and strength when properly installed.
Wind Rating Information:
Consistent with Revolvashade warranty terms, all wind ratings are certified as a breaking or stress point, defined as "up to" a stated wind speed, and are not intended to represent a safe operational limit. Wind ratings apply only when the umbrella is in a horizontal position in free airflow, with no wind-tunnel effects arising from surrounding structures. We recommend closing your umbrella when not in use. These requirements are critical to safe operation and form part of the warranty criteria.
Do Revolvashade umbrellas need to be earthed/grounded?
It depends on the location of installation. If an umbrella is within 1.25m of a swimming pool or spa, or near outdoor electrical equipment, a licensed electrician must assess and, if required, install earthing/bonding. For standard residential use further than 2m from a pool or spa, earthing is generally not required. For more information, read the Revolvashade earthing and bonding guidelines.
